Rapid Strep & Flu Testing

At Bartolomucci Family Medicine, we are fully equipped to diagnose and treat all age groups when they are sick or injured. We also offer rapid flu testing and rapid strep testing so you can get diagnosed and treated for the flu and strep throat more quickly.

Rapid Flu Testing

Rapid flu tests are designed to detect the parts of the influenza virus that trigger an immune response within the body. The doctor will run a cotton swab along the back of your throat or up your nose, and immediately send the sample for testing. Results are ready in approximately 10 to 15 minutes.

Rapid Strep Testing

This type of test can detect the presence of the streptococcus bacteria, which is responsible for strep throat. Strep throat is most common among 5 to 10 year old children. The doctor will quickly swab the back of the throat with a long cotton swam and immediately send the sample to be tested. Results are typically ready in just 10 minutes.
